Selaine Saxby MP visited Littledart Fufilment in Witheridge, who were awarded Apprentice Employer of the Year 2023 in the SME category by Petroc.
Littledart are a small but growing fulfilment company that uses a software solution that streamlines the sales channels, the picking, the packing and the shipping of orders for many other local and national companies.
Will Martin, Financial Director of Littledart Fufilment said:
“Littledart Fulfilment (LDF) is just finishing the build on its first purpose built warehouse and LDF 2.0 is filled with 18 fantastic companies. People choose Littledart because we are tech backed partners rather than just standard service providers. We do not impose strict packaging requirements, we work with our clients to ensure that their brand is always pushed forward, their products and ideas are supported, and we offer the flexibility that allows brands to keep what makes them them.
As part of our commitment to the village and to ensure low staff attrition, which is needed with such complicated packaging, we actively try to provide employment with opportunity. We aren't just another Amazon warehouse with hundreds of thousands of square feet and thousands of warehouse operatives. Our small shed model provides progression opportunities and the chance for our team to interact at a much greater level with our brands then just packing their orders.”
Selaine Saxby MP for North Devon, said:
“Littledart shows what can be done in rural areas and it is great to see that they are expanding, reaching out and taking opportunities. Oddly, having watched me on Sunday Politics before Christmas Quickes Cheese, who were also on the show were having problems with deliveries they picked up the phone and were able to sort out most of their Christmas orders!
It is one of the great parts of my job to be able to visit and meet young enthusiastic entrepreneurs and highlight the great work they are doing but also shine a light on what can be achieved in rural North Devon.”
Local Conservative Councillor, Jeremy Yabsley, said:
“We have a lot going on in Witheridge and it was great to bring our MP down to see one of the successful businesses set up by young, local residents. Our rural economy may be dominated by farming and farming services, but you would be amazed at the number of innovative and high-tech small businesses contributing to and employing people in our local economy.”
