HELPING YOUNG PEOPLE GET THE SKILLS THEY NEED FOR A GOOD FUTURE
Since 2010, 327,740 people have started an apprenticeship in the South West. Investing in the skills and education young people need is the key to inclusive growth – and central to an economy that works for everyone.
There are 300,000 more children attending good or outstanding schools in the South West than in 2010. We want to provide a good school place for every child so that no matter what their background, they have the opportunity to go as far as their talents will take them.
In 2016/17, schools in the South West will receive over £189 million through the Pupil Premium. We are giving disadvantaged children the support they need to succeed – ensuring that success is based on merit, not privilege.
