Paul is well known to almost all of the town of Ilfracombe. An experienced councillor now since 2003 at town, district and county level, he knows better than most how to get the best out of councils, and more importantly, the people that run them.
As well as being a local business owner, Paul is truly a man that can get things done. By consistently putting pressure on the right decision makers at all levels of local and national government to ensure Ilfracombe gets a fair slice of the cake, Paul has been central to securing the major infrastructure investment that can be seen coming into the town. From the multiple road resurfacing works seen in the town, to the full audit on road drainage and the subsequent fixes and additions needed to prevent degradation and improve road safety, Paul has been instrumental to these efforts.
Paul is at the heart of the community in Ilfracombe and wants to see the town thrive. He is always on hand to help and in the past has co-ordinated many a Birdman contests, joined litter picks, visited care homes, and has also been a dedicated volunteer co-ordinator of the successful Covid vaccination roll out in the town, helping protect the most vulnerable in the community.
If elected, Paul will continue to be the strong voice for Ilfracombe, Hele and Lee that is needed in County Hall and amongst his highest priorities is ensuring issues like adult and child social care are seriously addressed, funding is sourced, and standards are continually improved, as well as making sure resources are spent wisely.
It is very easy to shout about problems, anyone can do that, but it takes vision, effort, experience and ‘know-how’ to get results. That is what your vote in for Paul achieves – Results.
